Carolina Miracles

Welcome to my new blog

The Time Has Come

Earlier this year my pastor told me that he could see me writing a blog. This resonated with me, and in recent days, the Lord has put it on my heart to move forward with creating a blog as the new year approaches.

The Lord has done many incredible things in my life through the years. If I used this site just to tell you about the miracles He has done, I could fill a lot of pages. I want to share with you what He has done and the insights He has given me through the years. Perhaps my journey through difficult seasons will help you navigate some of the tough places you are going through. That would be an awesome blessing if my experiences could somehow be an encouragement to you.

I am known to some of my online friends as Carolina Miracle. This handle was born out of the blessings God bestowed upon my life in 1999 when we lost our home to Hurricane Floyd. (More on that later.) As we were going through one of life’s hardest experiences, we could see the hand of God touching our lives and reshaping all of the broken pieces into something fresh and new. I knew I wanted to call this blog “Carolina Miracle….Something,” but I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was. And then finally, it became clear – Just “Carolina Miracles”! I live in North Carolina, and I want to testify of the things God has done in my life, as well as ordinary day-to-day experiences. So, Carolina Miracles, it is!

Carolyn and John Smith, November 2016

So you might wonder who I am and what qualifies me to write this blog. Well, I am just an ordinary gal, probably a lot like you in many ways. I have served the Lord since I was 8 years old, and it’s my desire that my life give Him glory. This blog is going to be about my life experiences, so I guess that qualifies me to talk about them! I enjoy singing and worshiping the Lord. I also enjoy teaching the Word and sharing insights the Lord gives me with others. I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe in miracles because I’ve seen them! I have been married to my high school sweetheart, John Smith, for 42 years, and I am mom to three great kids (Ben, Jenny, and Jonathan) who are now grown and on their own. I work as a secretary at our local hospital, and I am active in my church, Lion of Judah Community Church. Stay tuned to learn more…
